Small, convenient and incredibly beautiful, our country is a fantastic place to live. From where we are in the geographic centre of Europe, everything is close: Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports offer scheduled flights to the major cities of Europe, which can be reached by air in 2 to 3 hours or less.
Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius, has been ranked the happiest European capital in a recent poll by The Independent. And there are plenty of reasons for its residents to smile – compact, vibrant and sophisticated, Vilnius offers every amenity of a larger city, as well as plenty of green spaces and pedestrian areas, and even the chance to do some “forest bathing” right downtown!
In Lithuania everything is very easily accessible. You can travel from the capital to the seaside in three hours by car, or reach Kaunas – the 2022 European Capital of Culture – in an easy one-hour drive or train ride. Even in the capital we don’t waste much time in traffic jams, and virtually anything important in the city is accessible by foot.
Six schools in Lithuania offer accredited International Baccalaureate programs. Each of the main cities contains international schools offering primary and secondary education in English.
Private day care in Lithuania costs considerably less that in most of Europe’s big cities, and we pay much less for food, transportation, entertainment and cultural events.
