The Council of the European Space Agency – ESA has finally approved the granting of associate membership status to Lithuania.
Upon becoming an associate member, Lithuania will have the right to establish an ESA Business Incubation Center, which would provide expert and financial assistance to space strtups. There are currently 20 centers in 17 ESA Member States.
These centers have helped to set up more than 300 space startups and have grown more than 700 businesses.
The associate membership agreement between Lithuania and ESA has yet to be ratified by the Parlament of the Republic of Lithuania. Until then, Lithuania will maintain the status of a cooperating state with ESA.
