The first meeting of the working group coordinating State-level emergency measures for business was held today. It was attended by ministry representatives, officials from the Office of the Government, representatives of organizations uniting Lithuanian businesses and employers, and heads of organizations representing industry and trade sectors.
Given the current situation and the already perceived consequences for the country’s economy, it was agreed to act expeditiously and decisively to preserve jobs and personal incomes and to reduce the negative consequences for the business sector.
‘The rapidly changing situation requires quick and decisive Government decisions. The Government has promptly presented the plan, but its smooth implementation and adaptation to the realities of different companies and sectors is only possible through direct dialogue with the business community. We are ready to listen, to adjust the proposed measures and provide new ones, if this will help preserve jobs more effectively and mitigate the negative consequences for businesses’, says Lukas Savickas, leader of the working group.
The main task of the working group is to coordinate implementation of the economic stimulus and coronavirus mitigation plan, to propose new measures, and to coordinate cooperation with business entities operating in Lithuania for the provision of additional essential goods and services during quarantine.
