Neringa (Curonian spit) is paradise on Earth
Last week almost anyone who took a ride on metro in Paris and thumbed a free edition “Metro” could admire Lithuania’s paradise on Earth – Neringa’s (Curonian spit) view. The daily which distributes some 500.000 copies per day offered its readership the five desirable beaches in Europe and we can find Lithuania’s pride among them. In the opinion of the French mind our beach can easily stand out against most beautiful coastwise in the continent. Neringa’s beach among “Metro’s” selected dream beaches took second place, it got ahead of paradises on Earth in Bulgaria, Corsica, Italy and backed down only for Greece’s in Mila’s island. lrytas.lt portal wrote on 15 June.
“Knowing French’s particularity, needs of this market and the high standards for tourism objects and services, this news is very delightful. This surely will increase our notoriety and point out singularity. Let’s hope that information about heaven’s place in Lithuania will capture their attention and maybe in this season we will await more tourists from this country, important to us tourism market.” – Director of Lithuanian State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy Raimonda Balnienė was glad about this great news.
“Such papers’ rating whish is accessible to millions everyday is a big achievement for us. Good news about Lithuania and its appeal for tourists is very important now, when situation in Tunisia and Egypt is still unstable. The French are searching for new places to take an ease this summer, where they can find calm and safety. Since their edition has graded Neringa so high, I’m hoping that, convincing the French to come here will be less and less needed” told Director of Lithuanian Tourism Information Canter (TIC) in Paris Inga Lanchas.
According to TIC leader, evaluating this article by “Metro’s” advertisements tariffs there would be a tiny sum, that Lithuania couldn’t afford advertising overseas – about 145 000 Litas (some Euro 42.000). That transcends yearly budget of TIC work in French. I. Lanchas was glad not only with this high evaluation of Curonian spit beach but also with another opportunity to advertise for free in the French media. This week for a long-lived productive cooperation TIC in Paris has awaited an offer to present tourism potential, products and services in these countries tourism professionals’ popular web sites www.tourmagazine.fr, www.tourmag.com and www.brochuresenligne.com. The costs of this advertisement is going to be more than 10 000 Litas (almost Euro 2.900).
